The Star Lookout is cozy, peaceful, quiet, relaxing, and serene. It is the perfect retreat for nature lovers, star gazers, writers, outdoor enthusiasts, honeymooners, and well, just about anyone wanting to get away from it all. French doors open to charming interior with a sleeping alcove to the left and forward to the view, and a cute kitchen and breakfast nook to the right. A separate bedroom is to the far right behind the white door. Guests looking forward to a quaint and intimate accommodation with quality interiors but a relaxed, down-home atmosphere will be wonderfully pleased by The Star Lookout.

The Star Lookout has unobstructed views of both shores of Maui. To the south, the community of Kihei and glimpses of neighboring islands. To the north, Kahului and views of north shore beaches and sugar cane fields. As the sun begins the day it shines on the West Maui mountains then creeps across the valley floor till The Star Lookout is bathed in a warm glow. The birds begin their song as the cows head out to pasture. Just another day in Paradise...

The "mauka" or mountain side is ideal for a family barbeque with fresh Hawaiian fish, expansive views of Haleakala Volcano and the pastures of the Haleakala Ranch. The Caretakers' Cottage in this view is a discreet distance away.

"I have never done an "Upcountry" experience on Maui before and I have to say that it was amazing. I loved the peace and quiet this property had to offer. Ray & Barbara (caretakers) were very thoughtful and respected our privacy at all times. I loved waking up & seeing the cows in the field next door and the spectacular view of the island. Before deciding our day's activity, we would look out and see which side of the island had the best weather! Who needs a "weatherman" when you can just look outside and see it all yourself?! The "Star Bed" overlooks the view. Stars overhead and city lights below at night! This isn't a cottage. It's a perch! With a view like this, it's difficult to get out of bed! Okay, there might be one or two reasons... check out Things to Do . The Star Lookout features a sleeping alcove in the main cottage. The master bedroom is accessed from the lanai. Wake up to bird song, pour a cup of coffee and plan your day.

The cottage consists of one main room with a kitchen, dining and living area. The master bedroom is attached to the cottage but accessed via the deck, a few feet on the front door.

Grandma's Coffee House is just a short walk away and serves a scrumptious array of fresh baked goodies, delicious breakfasts, and tasty lunches offered up with FRESH coffee from their own coffee roaster!

This newly remodeled cozy kitchen has all the comforts of home plus gorgeous views of the ocean and the mountain.
